He's no Mike Portnoy, but he's pretty darn good. Actually, he might be very close - almost as good, but he's nowhere near as creative, IMHO. I've heard & seen dozens of solos better than this one, at least at the beginning. The single-stroked accelerated drum roll, along with the last few minutes of the video are where he shines - he's got incredibly fast hands!! ..Starting at about 4:05 to the end is insane.

Not exactly Jordan Rudess, but nonetheless very well-done. This is something I like because I can musically pick out notes in tons of solos, and even reproduce them vocally, and in my mind. I can play guitar, but there's no way I'd be able to do most great solos - except perhaps on a keyboard. I was quite the piano player as a kid.

Il Silenzio - Featuring Melissa Venema, Age 13

Conductor/composer Andre Rieu showcases Il Silenzio (1965 by Nini Rosso and Guglielmo Brezza), with trumpet solo by 13 year old Melissa Venema. The majority of us never get the pleasure to hear the full 5+ minute version of this piece. However, you are probably familiar with the beginning, as an abbreviation is played at funeral services. An incredibly peaceful 5 minutes!
