How Daft Punk Ripped-off Eddie Johns

I don't listen to Daft Punk. I do have to admit that their song "One More Time" is a little catchy. It kinda stays with you.. blah blah blah.

I also don't listen to Eddie Johns. I had actually never even heard of him, nor this song, until I ran across the story of this blatant plagiarism somewhere on the Internets.

I'm not gonna post the individual songs here, but I will link to them. After reading this post, you can not tell me that Daft Punk didn't totally rip these guys off. They attempted to "sample" Johns's "More Spell On You", and ended up with a total and complete plagiarism.

Here is More Spell On You, by Eddie Johns. Take a few seconds to listen to some of it, as well as the next one too: Here is One More Time, by Daft Punk.

How they did it:

And another breakdown here.

You decide.

A Double-shot of Creed

Creed - "Torn"   (from My Own Prison, 1997)

Creed - "What If"   (from Human Clay, 1999)

I know they get a bad rap, but I really loved them in their prime. The first two albums were pretty incredible, and they were also VERY good live when I saw them in '99 in San Antonio. It was the Joe & Harry Freeman Coliseum, and it was up close & personal - very well done.

Although their 3rd album, Weathered, seemed significantly less creative -and much more commercial- I really enjoyed their 4th release, and most recent album Full Circle.. released 10 years after Human Clay in 2009.

These two are without a doubt my two favorite Creed tunes. There are many more, though. Mark Tremonti, currently with Alter Bridge is an amazing song writer, and wizard on the axe.

Not a huge Deftones fan, but there are a handful of their songs that I like, and this is probably my favorite.

For Some Reason, It's Never Enough

"Never Enough" - Dream Theater

This song is pretty personal to me. It means a lot of different things at a lot of different times. Besides all the meanings, it's just a really incredible song.
