Spurs are 19-3 since February 25th. In our last three games we took down Curry and the Warriors, Westbrook and the Thunder, and Harden & the Rockets. None of the three "MVP" candidates went off, and more importantly, the Spurs are on a serious ROLL! Completion of a home and home with Houston tonight IN Houston. We win this game, and we have a great chance at the #2 seed!
BooYah!!!1
UPDATE: Here it is 1 day later!
source
Memphis has games 3 games left: @ Clippers, @Golden State, and vs. Indiana.
Spurs only have 2 games left: vs. Phoenix, and @ New Orleans.

Still Creeping Closer & Closer
Update to We're Closing In!, with 19 games to go..
Source
Spurs have withstood a 4-game losing streak since that post further down the page, and are surely coming into playoff form. Tony Parker looks MUCH closer to 100%, and the offensive ball movement that blew everyone away during last year's Finals is showing its presence again, finally! Defense has been solid, and yet is still getting better all the time.
I've said it most of the season -- That #3 seed is still ripe for the taking!

Heat Can't Handle the Heat

1 down, 3 to go. Hopefully LeBron comes back strong, because I don't want to hear what the media has to say about the A/C issue. It was the same for both teams, and will likely never happen again. I also have serious doubts that 10 degrees forced LeBron's muscles to cramp-up. It happens in football all the time - when it's cold outside.
Go Spurs!!

2012 British Open Championship Update
~~ through 3 rounds ~~
This is pretty much what it comes down to early tomorrow morning for the final round of the 2012 Open Championship at Royal Lytham & St. Annes:

No way was it as such going into the tournament, but my money's now on Adam Scott to wrap it up.. I know, I know.. Going out on a limb. He's just playing too well to do something as horrific as it would take to lose this thing. I expect several of the guys to go low and put some pressure on him. McDowell, Tiger, Zach, and even Bubba & Dustin should be able to put a scare into these guys by posting a -7 or -8 early. Of course if the wind blows (and we all know the wind can really blow over there), that's even more of an advantage for Adam Scott.
Should be interesting!!

2 Down - 64 to Go

Shortened season. Tons of talent now in the west. No time to get in shape.
Task 1: Revenge against Memphis. CHECK!
Manu had a broken arm. They were peaking at the right time. Chalk it up to a farce. There was never any question about this game, and Manu & a rejuvenated Timmy said so. Introducing Kawhi Leonard.
Task 2: The new "instant-contenders" Clippers. CHECK!
Experts say this team is an instant contender to win the west. They sure didn't look like it! OK, I'll give them a half-season to get it together. Way to go, Manu, DeJuan, and James!
I'm not worried at all. Bring on the Rockets!
UPDATE:

Ooops! Ok, ok, no one's gonna win 'em all. Just didn't shoot well early, that's about the easiest thing to fix.. We make 3 or 4 more of those 10 threes we missed in the 1st half, and the halftime lead is 6 or 9 rather than 18. Then Pop doesn't yank Timmy, and so on.. might've been completely different.

Better Start Paying Attention

Att: media, Spurs haters, doubters, overlookers, Laker fans, Heat bandwagon jumpers, etc.
Wait is overlookers a word? Ehh I don't care. Yet another domination of one of the media's favorite handful of teams - on national television, no less. It's about to get really interesting!
...Oh nevermind - it already has been!
Please go check out the final boxscore! We're talking about some seriously amazing stats in this game:
• Franchise record 17 made threes (17 of 28 for 61%)
• Eight players in double figures - How often does that happen for any team during any season? Maybe twice?
• 29 assists on 46 field goals (that's 63%, and anything over about 50-55% is exactly what you want)
• Bonner went 6-7 from three-range by himself, and in 24 minutes
• Manu had 20 pts. 7 asst. 3 reb. and 2 steals in 26 minutes (that's a per-48-minute mark of 37 pts. 13 asst. 5.5 reb. and 3.7 steals)
• Including FTs, LeBron put the ball up 26 times to get his 26 points

Yeah that says 125-95.. ~~ Game recap here ~~
It's all just so hilarious. I actually watched some of the re-broadcast telecast of this game, which was not only broadcast on our home network with our own announcers, but ESPN as well. I will always opt for our own home announcers. Bill Land, Sean Elliott, Andrew Monaco, et al. I have already made a post regarding the worst game announcers there are. It just happens to be ESPN's own Mark Jackson, Jeff Van Gundy, and the guy who does the play-by-play (usually Mike Breen).
Some comment comparisons:
"The Miami Heat are one of the best defensive teams in the league." -- Mike Breen
Sean Elliott: "The Heat have no clue how to stop the simplest play in basketball - the pick-n-roll. Time and time again, they can't figure it out."
"This team is explosive on the offensive end.. they can turn it on at any time." -- Mark Jackson
Sean Elliott: "If we keep shooting threes like this, and playing this Spurs defense, there is no way the Heat get back into this game.
"If you're the Spurs you gotta slow it down and play half-court basketball" -- Mike Breen
Mike obviously hasn't done his homework here. This Spurs 2010-11 team is not that type of team. We've scored a bunch of points most games all season, and slowed it down very little, as is obvious by our points-for and points-against statistics.
"They can't beat the great teams, but when it's playoff time, this team will be a force to be reckoned with." -- Mark Jackson
Miami is 0-8 vs Spurs, Mavericks, Celtics, and Bulls. 2-2 vs. Orlando, 1-0 vs. Lakers at this point.
Then for the whole fourth quarter, all they talked about was how the Heat could be improved. I now realize that Jeff Van Gundy was not present for this broadcast, but the dialogue wasn't any better.
"This is a thrashing that can't be tolerated by the Heat. This is bad.." -- Mark Jackson
Nothing the Spurs did was ever praised. Especially considering all the stats I mentioned above. ESPN - take note! ..or don't. Kudos to Sean Elliott and Bill Land. Serious kudos.
