The Oklahoma State / Texas Tech Player-Fan Incident
It's pretty clear to me what Mr. Jeff Orr said to Marcus Smart.
Source
And Orr admitted to exactly what it sounds like. So why is this even an issue any longer?
It remains an issue because not enough people have seen (heard) this video, taken by a Texas Tech fan sitting very close to Jeff Orr. This pretty much clears it up, doesn't it?

The Rattlesnake We Found a Few Nights Ago (OC)
Before:
After:
Mine (Click 'em to enlarge!)
It was about 2 feet long, and as big around as my thumb.. 4 little rattles. I was watering at 11pm, with a little flashlight (NEVER AGAIN), and one of those little green lizards caught my eye on the plant just nearer to me than the one I was watering. Down on the ground I saw the snake slither by, back next to the outside of the garage door, and I almost had a heart attack. It took us about 45 minutes, but we finally figured out a way to get it into an easy enough position to kill it. That method was the wife beating it repeatedly with the flat of a broom. (Thinking back it was rather comical..) After she had it stunned quite a bit, I was able to get close enough to chop it hard behind the head, with a flat-edge shovel.. We don't have a hoe.
And no, I don't live out in the country! This is the first one I've ever found at this house, and I've lived here 11+ years. Many have been found nearby - where my Mom lives, and where my sister lives - but first one here. It's also the first one I've had to deal with. I hope we can go another 10 years before seeing one again!

So I saw this truck at a local shopping center. It had that rugged spray-on bedliner stuff as its paint job. Now if this type of thing is common, and I'm just an idiot, then move along to the next post. If you're like me, you think this idea is actually pretty unique! This stuff is perfect for truck bedliners, because it is pretty much indestructible. So I guess he now has a scratch-proof paint job.

The Fastest Growing City in the U.S.
By Brad Rollins at the San Marcos Mercury
San Marcos, TX is the fastest-growing large city in the United States, according to updated population estimates announced today by the U.S. Census Bureau.
The city added 2,339 new residents — an increase of 4.91 percent — between July 2011 and July 2012, the bureau said,

pushing its official population above 50,000 for the first time. South Jordan, Utah was the second fastest-growing with a 4.87 percent increase to 55,934.
San Marcos Mayor Daniel Guerrero said news that San Marcos’ population is well beyond booming does not come as a total surprise based on “the growth trends that we’ve seen over the last 10-15 years.”
“We knew San Marcos is a growing city. The population of Central Texas as a whole is booming and San Marcos happens to be in the center of all that action. So we ended up with the largest gains,” Guerrero said. “When you have that kind of proximity to Austin and San Antonio — and you’re three hours away from every major city in Texas — those are certainly big facets” in attracting new residents.
Texas State University is a leading factor in the city’s growth, the mayor said, as is the city’s and county’s aggressive drive over the last decade to update and expand roads and other infrastructure. In addition, he said, “San Marcos’ overall natural beauty is something that brings people in.”
Elsewhere in the Interstate 35 corridor, Austin moved from the 13th most populous city in the nation to the 11th with a population of 842,592, according to the new estimates. San Antonio grew to 1,382,951 residents and kept its spot as the seventh-largest city in the U.S.

Whambulance
Not quite as refreshing as the beerbulance. Not gonna quench the taste buds quite like the crabulance. And it's certainly not anything like when you're having a tacomergency. But I present to you now, the all-purpose EMT vehicle. It can get anywhere anytime, and nothing can stop it! The Whambulance!

Just a Rainbow (OC)
It rained today, but the rainbow appeared several hours later, when it wasn't even raining here (as you can see by the fact that puddles & stuff had a couple hours to dry up).

Some Shots from Our Trip to Galveston Last Week (OC)
The beginning of a Galveston sunset..
It was just a little 2-night get-away to Galveston. We only went to the beach once - for about 20 minutes, but we do that all the time, and there are better beaches in Texas. We spent almost a whole day at Moody Gardens, and that was better than I expected it would be - especially for $47 each. The pictures aren't spectacular, but nor was the vacation. It was more about getting away for a few days, relaxing, and seeing some stuff we hadn't seen before.
I wouldn't recommend eating at the Rainforest Cafe. The food was overpriced, and not very good. Don't make the mistake of going to a new place, and trying one of your favorite dishes from one of your favorite frequent eateries - and I should've known - you'll be sorely disappointed. I had the fish tacos. (I love Los Cucos's fish tacos, so that was my big mistake.) Tortuga Mexican Kitchen, however, was VERY good.

The Massive Lightning Strike at a Rangers'/Twins Game
Video Screencap
During the 4th inning of the Texas Rangers' game vs. the Minnesota Twins on July 8, 2012, a storm produced a thunder-clap that freaked-out everyone on the field like I've never seen before. I had one of these the other night at home that caused me to seriously worry about going outside to get a lawn mower out of a truck bed. I can totally relate to these players & umpires.
