1 down, 3 to go. Hopefully LeBron comes back strong, because I don't want to hear what the media has to say about the A/C issue. It was the same for both teams, and will likely never happen again. I also have serious doubts that 10 degrees forced LeBron's muscles to cramp-up. It happens in football all the time - when it's cold outside.
Go Spurs!!

Weather: Only in Texas

Such is the weather in south Texas. Overnight last Saturday night it got down to 33º, and we were dripping faucets, and stuff. Then the high Sunday was only about 65º before an overnight low again of about 40º, with rain. Then Monday's high never reached 60º, but it was a clear, very beautiful day. So then last night's low was probably 45º, with more drizzle. Needless to say, we needed the heater for 48 hours or a little more, moderately.
Then today it got up to 71º, and we opened up the windows, but there was no wind.. Then the wind kicked up and helped a bit. But a few hours ago I turned on the A/C because the sun set, and it was still 68º with probably 95% humidity. Yeah I'm always warm like that, and my wife is always cold. So when our heater is on, I barely have it set at 64 or so..
Anyway the A/C decision was a good one, because it's still drizzling, and the overnight low tonight is only 63º, but it's supposed to be a muggy, rainy 75º later today, and then get down to 48º again Thursday morning. The 5-day forecast right now shows a high of low-60s, and a low of mid-to-high 40s, which means we'll probably need the heater again. Ugh!

What a great chart! Lots to learn here. I think. One thing I already knew - Hawaii would be the best place on the planet to live.

Too Cold

The weather forecast for here is blowing my mind.
They said 16, then 14, now I see it might reach 11 degrees. Not worried about it at all, but hey this is Texas! This night will be a first in almost 28 years. Snow? Yeah right. This is an incredibly cold, dry night which is actually not very common anywhere.
But hey - This is Texas!
Stay warm!!

Record Texas Heat: Are We Done Yet?

Well, it looks like this summer's record heat wave here in the San Antonio area (as well as most of the state, too) might be over. Yesterday during a bike ride, I realized that 90 actually felt pretty good. Most nights during the last 2 ½ months have barely dipped into the 70s, but lately we've actually enjoyed a few nights in the low 70s. The picture above was taken in the car in late July.. at 8:31pm!
To make matters worse, we've also only gotten a couple inches of rain the last few months. Yards are burnt brown, creeks & river levels are way down, and most of San Antonio has already been into stage-2 watering restrictions for most of the month. Needless to say, we're all looking forward to autumn.
Here is the official National Weather Service report showing all of these incredible statistics. Note the number of consecutive 100° days about half-way down (72 in New Braunfels). I don't remember the actual number, but the previous record, set a LONG time ago was in the high thirties! By far this has been the hottest year on record.
