The legend goes that there was a hole in Texas Stadium so God could watch his favorite team play. Well Texas Stadium, now demolished, is no longer the home of the Cowboys. Now playing in new Cowboys Stadium, it is obvious that a new legend just might be establishing itself.

The NFL Right Now

Defensive lines are getting much much stronger as time goes by. The entire line of scrimmage as a whole is being more & more controlled by the defensive side. The value of a QB who can - in 2-3 seconds - escape pressure, and turn a likely sack into anything positive, or even the possibility of a big play, is skyrocketing as we speak. The great QBs of today will accept the worst possible outcome from that point on. There's even a slight few who will usually turn it into something positive.
Fewer and fewer teams are finding RBs who can game-after-game find the holes, produce the extra 3-4 yards more times than not, make the first guy miss, and more importantly do it for four quarters.
Because of this.. defenses are focusing more on stopping the pass, but I still haven't figured out why yet. Superstars at corner and safety don't necessarily make the defense a great defense. The entirety of the center of the field must be controlled, and that's why most corners these days suffer. Once both safeties realize they must control the deep center of the field (8-20 yards from the line), teams might realize that they need to be much more worried about the quality of their players at the line.
Offenses are starting to realize that the "pocket passer" thing isn't working nearly as much as it used to. How Peyton Manning performs next year will be huge news. He and Tom Brady are a bout the only ones left. These two will likely continue to get it done. But I think the trend is more towards a Brees, or a Romo, who routinely turn bad plays into good ones. The other extreme is the Vick & Newton who completely confuse defenses. These two are in a class alone, but because they do the same thing that Brees and Romo do, but from a RB's perspective. If there is ever a player who is so equally both a back and a quarterback, NFL defenses will have their work cut out.
Then again, pressure on the backfield is the key, and the solidity of the line of scrimmage will ultimately win.
Why is San Francisco overrated? Because they don't have the offense to conquer the elite defenses. Dallas? Baltimore? Yeah those are two of them.

Yummy! Oh Wait..

At least he isn't the reason we lost to the Patriots. He actually did well most of the game.
Garrett? Ehh, not so much. Not when it mattered most. When all you need is 1 first down, you have to pull out a few creative running plays - not regular ol' "run it up the middle to run out the clock" plays.
Kudos for doing what we wanted you to do: Protect the lead by RUNNING THE BALL! But Nevermind.. I'm starting to think you are too overwhelmed with play-calling to be a head coach.. or too overwhelmed with being a head coach to call plays. Rob Ryan and the entire defense did a super job. Perhaps (Jerry) you need to hire an offensive coordinator.

Ravens' QB Joe Flacco's Unique Wedding Photo

Following Tony Romo's lead, Flacco, chose a unique pose for this particular wedding photo.
Here's the story and here's the link to the rest of the uniquely done wedding album by Jason Prezant photography.

Notice how they arranged all these hot women by hair color? I must admit I heard about this on a news report which contained Whoopie Goldberg stating this observation. Nevertheless, way to go Tony! Not only does your new wife have a lot of hot friends, but their hair colors cover the entire female hair color spectrum!

Problems Solved

Source
Well, I ran into this blog post, when checking out the High Definite a little bit ago..
So you should probably go read the article, but its summary is that the Cowboys' domain name and main website had to be re-purchased after a matter of hours.
Somehow this is supposed to be somewhere near as relevant as the loss of Tony Romo, and the changing of coaches mid-season.
That website nor its domain is nothing compared to the devastating effects concerning the franchise QB, and it's head coach is concerned.
Who the next big-name head coach is is not significant either, really. One of the big boys will be hired right after week-17 - unless, and only unless, Jason Garrett does something spectacular. But that's doubtful.
They'll show signs, they'll win a few games. Romo will come back and play. Stephen McGee will make a big name for himself. Marion Barber will likely not be a Cowboy after this season.
Next year might not be spectacular, but it could be. I'll stay tuned.

Total Domination!

I was really impressed with the Dallas defense. 4 Sacks, 3 FumRec, 1 Int., 56 yards rushing... This defense has been pissed off since about half-way through the San Diego game in week-14 (loss 20-17). They had come off a sloppy couple quarters against the G-Men in week-13, but 5 weeks of solid performance prior to those two games. Only 31 points allowed in 4 straight games now!
Felix Jones: 16-148 and 1TD, and a catch for 30. A star in the making.
Miles Austin: 7-82 and 1TD - still causing serious problems for defenses.
Tony Romo: 23 of 35 .. 244 yds. & 2TDs .. NO interceptions.. NO fumbles.. Sacked only twice. Has certainly grown up. Minnesota's D is probably better than Philly's. And Favre and his crew aren't in the funk that Philly has been. Be patient!
