A Double-shot of Creed
Creed - "Torn"   (from My Own Prison, 1997)

Creed - "What If"   (from Human Clay, 1999)

I know they get a bad rap, but I really loved them in their prime. The first two albums were pretty incredible, and they were also VERY good live when I saw them in '99 in San Antonio. It was the Joe & Harry Freeman Coliseum, and it was up close & personal - very well done.
Although their 3rd album, Weathered, seemed significantly less creative -and much more commercial- I really enjoyed their 4th release, and most recent album Full Circle.. released 10 years after Human Clay in 2009.
These two are without a doubt my two favorite Creed tunes. There are many more, though. Mark Tremonti, currently with Alter Bridge is an amazing song writer, and wizard on the axe.

Incarceration in America

Hello? America is not winning this drug war. The drugs are still around as much as ever, the only differences are now the prisons are extremely overcrowded, and thousands of people are being killed everyday just because of this war on drugs.
The graph above shows the total prison population. The graph below shows the prison population relative to our entire population as a whole, so it's a percentage.

Tattooed Eyeballs

Saw this on msnbc's "Lockup: Raw" the other night. These guys used a hypodermic needle to tattoo the whites of their eyeballs. This guy did red. His "cellie" did his blue, because he had blue eyes. The only follow-up that was reported was another guy did his black. And the images were intense! Painful?? Holy cow.. Trend? We'll see..
