An Underwater River

If you are a professional diver you should visit Cenote Angelita, Mexico. There's some kind of cave. When you go deeper than 30 meters the water is fresh, deeper than 60 - it's salty. And then you see a river underneath, with trees and leaves. But of course, it's not a real river. It's just a layer of hydrogen sulphide. But it looks amazing. (Source)

Tijuana, Mexico & Southern California, USA Border

OK so I've seen this picture many times, but the difference this time is I took it upon myself, as I do sometimes, to find its exact location. Without further ado, here it is.

Obviously the image above is taken from atop a hill, or perhaps a helicopter or airplane, so I found it impossible to put little Google Maps street guy in the exact location where this image was taken. However, notice the light blue building with the double roof on the right side of the road in Tijuana. That's the same blue building in the link.

Also if you turn around 180º (or click here), you can see a little dirt hill on the US side in the distance, from where the picture may actually have been taken.

I'm Back!

...from a 3-day trip to Lubbock. Daughter had a second audition for the College of Music at Texas Tech. This trip also included a drive over to Roswell, NM, hence the banner image. Roswell is actually a fun little place, unless you are a serious skeptic to all the hype surrounding its history. The town really banks on its tourism, as there are little aliens literally all over place. Fake ones, of course, but there's probably a real one or two too.

The UFO Museum & Research Center was actually very impressive - especially for an enthusiast such as me. For only $5 you get an incredible amount of information.

I'm still wondering if Padre Island here off the Texas coast will be affected, and if so, how soon? We had tentative plans to go next weekend.
