By the Way

Here's Manu's hand just over 2-weeks after his broken 5th metacarpal:

I guess I won't be able to fulfill my dream of becoming a hand model after my NBA career." --Manu Ginobili

Looks very familiar, as my wife broke the exact same bone (along with the 3rd metacarpal also) in a car accident on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 5, 2006. She had two tiny titanium screws put into each bone (4 total in her left hand), and they have healed very, very well.

Two-three more weeks, and I expect him to start testing it out. Hopefully he had as good a surgeon as my wife had.

Yeah - He's Pretty Important

Source

Still not the game we have waited to see.. It's been a while since we've had a game shooting 55%+, and when that happens it's gonna be a Spurs blowout. Our defense is still not ever gonna be the same without Bruce Bowen. Pop has pretty much tried everything, but RJ is just nowhere near the defender that Bruce was. I really wish Anderson and/or Da'Sean Butler were ready to go NOW. Both are "considered" shooting guards, but both are just about a proper size to play the small forward. Each has pretty good defensive skills. I'm just sayin'..

Tiago needs to play! C'mon Pop.. With all the minutes that Blair and McDyess have logged together, you need to give Tiago some minutes with Tim. Yeah he needs minutes period, but alongside Timmy would be great to see. Why not give these guys a chance? When the team needs a lift, put some other guys in.. let 'em launch it, see if it helps. Green, Anderson, Novak... If it doesn't, then take 'em right back out. What have you lost? Hopefully not a huge opponent run, but I doubt it.

Ginobili Undergoes Rabies Shots

Updating this post, San Antonio Spurs' guard Manu Ginobili posted to his Facebook page that he had to undergo a series rabies shots. Late in the first period of the Spurs win over the Kings on Saturday a bat swooped into the AT&T Center and descended onto the court. Players scattered and officials stopped play. The bat circled and left only to return -- briefly.

That's when Ginobili performed his Halloween trick, swatting the bat out of the air with a bare hand. He then carried the creature off the court to thunderous cheers.

Manu

Simply the greatest Spurs pic of all time. Duncan's 3 to send the game into OT is awesome too, though. I'll post it too eventually..

Everyone remember where you were when Manu hit this?
